you may select it here.
Normally IntelliGolf shows player's net scores and how many
strokes they are over or under Par. Optionally, IntelliGolf
can show British Stableford points (1 point for a Bogey, 2 points for Par, 3 points for a Birdie,
etc.)
for each player by checking the "Stableford scoring" checkbox
at the bottom of this screen. This scoring is very popular
in Europe.

The Scorecard name is required, other fields are optional.
You may also erase a player from the scorecard by pressing the Menu button and then selecting Erase.
To enter a new player,

If you would like to enter a player's handicap, you have three
choices:

Use this selection to define a player's handicap.
- USGA Index
Use this selection for players that have a USGA Handicap Index.
IntelliGolf will compute a course handicap for the golfer using the
formula: Course Handicap = Index * slope / 113. IntelliGolf
supports a men's and women's slope rating for each tee, so be sure to
set the Sex field correctly if you are using this handicap
choice.
- Average Score
Use this selection when a player does not have an established
handicap but they have some idea of what their "average" score is
on this course. IntelliGolf will compute a handicap using the
formula: Handicap = Average Score - Course Par.
- EGA Index
Use this selection for players that have a Handicap Index
issued by a European golf association. IntelliGolf will compute a
course handicap for the golfer using the formula:
Course Handicap = Index * slope / 113 + rating - par.

names. Handicap scoring can be calculated one of four ways on an
individual game basis:
- Handicap difference
- Full handicaps
- Handicap values
- No handicaps
When using the Handicap difference method, IntelliGolf subtracts the low
handicap from all players' handicaps. The Handicap values
choice lets you enter a handicap value for each player for just this
game.

7. IntelliGPS® (Eagle versions only)
IntelliGolf provides the ability to view distances from tee-to-green with GPS accuracy using
industry-leading GPS receivers. Plus, even if you don't own a GPS receiver,
IntelliGolf's new IntelliGPS technology will automatically predict distances to key target locations (i.e. fairway markers, green, etc)
for you from the Tee Box. As such, you don't have to own a GPS receiver to start enjoying the benefits of IntelliGolf version 8 today.
Just select the GPS menu item and start viewing IntelliGPS distances immediately. Club
selection has never been easier.
|
|
|
If your favorite golf course's GPS coordinates aren't uploaded yet, you can use the GPS Survey screen (and a
GPS Bluetooth receiver and Bluetooth-enabled Smartphone) to quickly enter
your course.
Press the Menu button and then select Record as you reach the 200, 150, and 100 yard/meter markers, any of three custom fairway points (e.g. creek, sand trap, lake, etc) per hole, and the front, center, and back of the green. IntelliGolf will record these GPS coordinates for you and automatically convert them into distance readings. It's that easy.
|
|
If you have a 1) Bluetooth-enabled Smartphone and a GPS Bluetooth receiver, or 2) an IntelliGolf-compatible GPS enabled Smartphone (e.g. Motorola Q 9h/c),
you will need to set-up IntelliGolf to work with your particular device. For a list of GPS receivers and GPS-based Smartphones that have been IntelliGPS
certified to work with IntelliGolf, please click here.
If you are going to use a Bluetooth-based GPS receiver with your Smartphone, first you will need to bond it with your smartphone. This is done "outside" of the
IntelliGolf software as this is a Windows Mobile function. Please consult your manual for exact directions.
But, this can usually be done by selecting (Windows) START, Settings, Connections, Bluetooth, and Add a New Device.
Your smartphone will begin looking for your GPS receiver. Once found, select Next, then enter the passcode (usually "0000" or "1234") and confirm its addition.
Next, select/enter the Display Name, leave Serial Port unchecked, and then select Done. Finally, highlight the GPS receiver in the list, select Menu, then select COM Port,
and assign the GPS receiver a COM Port (e.g. Com 9). Then, select Done.
|
|
|
Next, you will need to configure IntelliGolf to work with your 1) Bluetooth-based GPS receiver (external) or
2) to access to a GPS-compatible chip (internal) in one of the latest WM-based Smartphones (Motorola Q 9h/c, Samsung Blackjack II, etc).
To configure IntelliGolf to work with your GPS receiver or GPS chip, start a New Round of golf for a GPS-enabled course
(i.e. it will have a satellite icon next to it in the IntelliGolf course database). Proceed to the 1st Hole.
Select Menu, then GPS, then Menu, then 7-More, and then Device Set-up.
If you do not own a Bluetooth-based GPS receiver or have an IntelliGolf compatible GPS-based Smartphone, please leave Device set to None.
Leaving Device set to "None" puts IntelliGolf into Simulator mode. That generates simulated GPS data
in the IntelliGolf GPS screens to demonstrate the features of IntelliGPS (assuming you had a GPS receiver).
If you own an IntelliGolf compatible Bluetooth-based GPS receiver, set Device to "Direct connection" (by scrolling through the choices), select the Port # that you previously assigned
to your Bluetooth GPS receiver in Windows Mobile (above), and check the two boxes (Keep connection open and Keep device powered on). Select Done, and your Smartphone and GPS receiver
should connect start receiving GPS signals within a few minutes (assuming that you are outside in clear view of the sky :-).
It usually takes 1-2 minutes for the GPS chip in Bluetooth-based GPS receivers to warm-up and initially connect with the satellites circling the Earth. GPS setup should only need to be done
once as IntelliGolf will remember your selections for future sessions.
If you own an IntelliGolf compatible GPS-enabled Smartphone (e.g. Motorola Q 9h/c, Samsung Blackjack II, etc), set Device to "GPS multiplexer/integral" (by scolling through the choices), Port to "GPSID",
and check the two boxes (Keep connection open and Keep device powered on). Select Done, and your smartphone and GPS receiver should connect and start receiving GPS signals within a few minutes
(assuming that you are outside in clear view of the sky :-).
It usually takes 1-2 minutes for the GPS chip in Smartphones to warm-up and initially connect to the satellites circling the Earth. GPS setup should only need to be done once as IntelliGolf will
remember your selections for future sessions.
Note: If you are using IntelliGolf version 8.5 or earlier, you will want to read our FAQ on using IntelliGolf with the Motorola Q 9h/c or Samsung Blackjack II by
