IntelliGPS® Certified GPS Receivers and Handhelds

The GPS-based smartphones (Section I), GPS-based handhelds (Section II), Bluetooth-based GPS receivers (Section III and IV), and Bluetooth-based smartphones and handhelds (Section V) listed below have either been certified by us (IntelliGolf, Inc.) as compatible with IntelliGolf version 9.x (or higher) or have been reported by IntelliGolfers worldwide as being compatible with IntelliGolf version 9.x (or higher). While we do not market, sell, or endorse any specific hardware devices, we hope that you find this information useful!


I. Customer Referred Smartphones with Embedded GPS chips

IntelliGolf users have reported that the smartphones listed below, when used with IntelliGolf version 9.x, provide GPS accuracy within 1-3 meters/yards. That equals the accuracy levels provided by most dedicated GPS range finders. This is excellent news! Simply purchase the IntelliGolf Eagle edition software for your platform by clicking here. FREE TRIAL: If you don't own one of the smartphones listed below, you can always download and install the IntelliGolf Eagle edition's free "trial" software and give the GPS chip in your smartphone a try! Click here see our list of IntelliGolf Eagle edition products (left column). If your phone's accuracy level is outside of 10 yards/meters, please consider adding a Bluetooth-based GPS receiver to your system (See Section III below). They work great too!

Motorola Q 9c/h/mThe IntelliGolf Eagle edition version 9.x software runs great on this smartphone. We have personally tested the Q 9h (courtesy of Motorola) and its GPS chip is accurate enough for golf. Click here for more product information. Nokia E66, E71, N82 & N95The IntelliGolf Eagle edition version 9.01 (or higher) runs great on these Nokia smartphones. Version 9.01+ adds enhanced support the for the embedded GPS chips in these devices. We have personally tested IntelliGolf on all of these phones (courtesy of Nokia) and their GPS chip (with aGPS support) is accurate enough for golf. Click here for more product information.
RIM Blackberry 8300- and 8800-seriesThe IntelliGolf Eagle edition version 9.01 (or higher) software runs great on Blackberry. Version 9.01+ adds enhanced support the for the embedded GPS chips in these devices. We have personally tested these smartphones (courtesy of RIM) and their GPS chip is accurate enough for golf. Note: We have personally tested IntelliGolf with the Motorola Q 9h, Nokia N95, and the Blackberry 8130, 8310, and 8800. They all work very well with IntelliGolf version 9.x :-)

II. Customer Referred Compatible Handhelds with Embedded GPS chips

IntelliGolf users have reported that the handhelds listed below provide GPS accuracy within 1-3 meter/yards. That equals the accuracy levels provided by most dedicated GPS range finders.

Garmin iQue 3600 and iQue M5IntelliGolf runs great on the iQue 3600 (Palm OS) and M5 (Pocket PC). IntelliGolf is compatible with the GPS chip in these handhelds.
HP 6515 and 6915IntelliGolf runs great on the HP 6515 and HP 6915 Pocket PCs. IntelliGolf is compatible with the GPS chip in these handhelds.
Mitac Mio 168IntelliGolf runs great on the Mio 168. IntelliGolf is compatible with the GPS chip in this Pocket PC.
Navman PiNIntelliGolf runs great on the Navman PiN. IntelliGolf is compatible with the GPS chip in this Pocket PC.

III. IntelliGPS® Certified GPS Receivers and Handhelds

The GPS devices listed below generally provide accuracy within 1-3 meter/yards. That is equal to the accuracy levels provided by most dedicated GPS range finders. While we do not market, sell, or endorse any specific GPS receivers, we have found that the Nokia LD-3W, LD-4W, and the DeLorme BT-20 GPS receivers work very well with the IntelliGolf Eagle edition version 9.x software. The LD-3W and LD-4W seem to work well with almost any Bluetooth-enabled handheld/smartphone using the IntelliGolf Eagle edition version 9.x software. The BT-20 works well with Palm/Treo handhelds and Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs as it also comes with compatible navigation (driving) software. These devices seem to provide accuracy within 1-3 yards (or better) of actual distance based upon our "on course" testing :-).

** The Garmin "GPS 10" is not the same device as the "Mobile 10". We've had numerous reports that the "Mobile 10" is not compatible with many applications including IntelliGolf. However, at least one Mobile 10 customer has been able to get it to work with IntelliGolf. To read his set-up instructions please click here.
*** Many of the GlobalSat BT-xxx GPS devices appear to work fine with IntelliGolf. However, it has been report that the BT-359 does not work reliably on some devices and with some applications. As such, we can not recommend the BT-359 at this time.

IV. Customer Referred GPS Receivers

The GPS devices listed below have been reported as compatible with IntelliGolf by customers worldwide. While we have not personally tested or certified these GPS receivers in our Lab, there is good chance that they will function properly with IntelliGolf. * Many of the GlobalSat BT-xxx GPS devices appear to work fine with IntelliGolf. However, it has been report that the BT-359 does not work reliably on some devices and with some applications. As such, we can not recommend the BT-359 at this time.
** It has been reported that Tom Tom's Bluetooth-based GPS receiver (i.e. puck) works well with IntelliGolf. However, Tom Tom's GPS Navigator (i.e. standalone in-car navigation device) is not a Bluetooth-based GPS receiver. As such, it is not compatible with IntelliGolf.

V. Compatible Handhelds/Smartphones with BLUETOOTH

The devices listed below provide Bluetooth communication capabilities. As such, they should connection and work fine with the Bluetooth-based GPS receivers listed in the tables above.

Palm and Treo handheldsIntelliGolf runs great on Palm and Treo handhelds (OS version 3.0+). Virtually all Palm handhelds include Bluetooth support for accessing an external Bluetooth-based GPS receiver. Check you manual. Click here for more product information.
